It gives you power
yet takes it away
exactly when you need it
to be there to stay.
It makes you strong
yet leaves you weak
as you become vulnerable
without opportunity to speak.
It builds you up
only to tear you down
leaving you barren
like a natural disaster-stricken town.
It warms you inside
with adrenaline pumping
as you feel strong enough
to give anything a trumping,
yet that feeling vanishes
once you are at the top
as your violence comes crashing
down in a thunderous drop.
