Why They Do It

They do it for their benefit,
not for your own.
They do it to be heard,
not for the words to be shown.
They do it for the show,
not for the crowd.
With an unabashed arrogance,
they do it to be loud.
They do not aim
to have an audience edified
and they do not do it
for a message to be clarified.
They do it for the glory
of selfish, self-conscious beings
who live a life for the approval of others
in a way that lacks all meaning.
