Accidental Recipient

The frustration comes out
on an unsuspecting innocent.
The unintended target
becomes the accidental recipient.
The one attempted helper
who often threw assistance
is now the utter victim
who has an acceptable grievance.
Though he not always
succeeds in his mission
he ever rarely seems
to deserve such mistreatment.
He always has the best
of every possible intention
while his purest effort can
never be called into contention.
His truest passion available,
something so many today lack,
is the one attribute most
evident when one comes in contact.
No matter the present circumstance
he finds himself in
he discovers a way out
yet again and yet again.
A persevering spirit
too hard to find today,
he is the epitome of optimistic
in a most contagious way.
The spirit that will never quit
though the thought may creep about,
he will be around yet
for the long haul through ups and downs.
The one and often only
constant in this changing world,
with a brow resiliently unchanging
the reputation and accolade he has earned.
