Selfish Wealth

Thoughts filled up in a mind that's trapped
with nowhere to go but down.
The mind begins to feel so wrapped
up in the crumbling world around
and nothing can save it from itself
but it with its own selfish wealth
will die.

A soul emptied from past regrets
and wrongdoings that it can't forgive,
it only remembers the times it wept
as it no longer wants to live

A heart so passionate at times
has been stripped of its giving ways
in what was the cruelest of crimes
leaving this pounding in a haze
and nothing can now save it from itself
but it with its own selfish wealth
will die.

A body left for dead days ago
will do as wished and disappear
without another soul to know
the amount of bitterness and fear
that made it impossible to save itself
from its own powerful selfish wealth
as it's now died.
