Resilience Re-Silenced

The spirit to push
and go through
the adversity
given to,
the strength to
continue going
all the while,
while knowing
the truth is
you're so close
to the end of
the rope you chose.
Now a resilience
once revered
is re-silenced,
unable to persevere.
The spirit ready
to force through all
goes face first
in a painful fall,
one from which
they body and soul
may never recover
enough to be whole.
