From Ashes of Old

The new ones rise
from the ashes of old
to overshadow the decrepit's
legacy to be untold.
The height imposes
a certain powerful will
that is resilient
in a silent shrill.
The erecting of the tall,
the towering upright missiles
with every power
and possibility to kill,
they kill the one
that's remaining short and weak
simply to choke out
any signs of the frail and meek.
They care not for
tradition or history
but rather the power
leading to other's misery.
Their satisfaction won't
come until that last
gasping breath is gone
from the voices of the past
as only at that moment
is the collective boot removed
from the throats of the oppressed,
now an existence that is moot.
