Consumerism's Theft

The picture that speaks
a thousand words
now replaces the mind
that was formerly undeterred.
The visual does all
of the necessary thinking
until imaginations that once ran
rampant are now sinking.
The fluids of creativity
that brought us the pictures
are the same to introduce machines
that cause time to be so indentured.
The minds once wired
to be the creators
are now nothing but consumers
with bodies that do nothing but cater.
The drive to explore
is now replaced so quickly
by the parked mentality
that takes in until sickly.
The soul sucks life
out of that which brains breathed it in
as the vast drowning of essence
happens again and again.

No one knows
or even cares
when this will end
or if we will be there
but sooner rather than later
there will be nothing left
as creation disappears
due to consumerism's theft.
