Bother

Disappointed with my performance
and confused by my word choice,
I am having trouble knowing why
I even bothered to make heard my voice.
I said a lot of useless words that
could not mean any less if I tried.
I attempted to tell others of feelings
that fell flat on the paper as they died.
Sometimes I feel as if I have something here
but obviously that time was not today
as nothing read, typed, or even spoken
came across in the correct way.
I am going to resign this post now
and admit to myself as well as others
that I have nothing else of value to say
as no longer will this soul feel the need to bother.
