Growing Disappointment

The delicate age
that grew with rage
that would mellow later
to watch youth become a traitor;
the shortened height
that grew with might
as they became tall
yet deaf as all;
the wisdom started
as nothing to be regarded
until it grew in ways
that would be marveled at for days,
yet vision would then narrow
to see a squandering grow
as talents left
filled with a giant cleft.

The brains dim
as the future is grim
when the wrong turn is made
as dreams forever fade;
wasted chances
in falsified romances
of actions not worth while
that would bring only guile.
