This Love

Your pain hurts me.
We are sharing the same agony.
All that you want in life
is what I want for you to be happy.
I overflow with a love
that helped me rise above
the tribulations I faced
with you as my guiding glove.
Times could not be harder
with dreams that couldn't seem farther
from where you dwell
in a seemingly unsafe harbor
but I am here to say
that this stormy day,
along with all the others,
will fade so far away.
However what will not
go away, as for it we fought,
is a love that pulls through
even when we feel caught.

Battle with Time

Time is frozen
as are my legs.
I am bored,
something others have pegged.
I am ready for
the night to end
and time to again
become my friend.
I am ready for
voices that slow
to increase their speed
and have assistance to show.
If only I knew
how to manipulate this time
it may change a perception
and an attitude of mine
but until that moment
I will stare at the clock
and think of my battle with time,
one that is being fought and lost.
