Dreams in the white
of the little girl passed,
so short of years,
a life that didn't last,
dreams she lives
a longer life
that didn't end
under duress and strife,
dreams she made it
from a first date
to the day her eyes
first met her mate,
dreams she wore
the cap and gown
the day nothing
could bring her down
and days that
were past today,
the last she lived
on an earth she couldn't stay.
